Did you know that one-third (one-third!) of all online activity is spent watching videos? This is presumably made up of “over a billion hours of video” watched on YouTube each day, as well as the 689 million monthly users on TikTok!

However we look at it, video is the future; digital marketing and news is all over it, everyone has their own streaming service now, and everywhere we look people are attempting to make the latest and greatest viral content.

But what makes a video viral? Apparently there are a few common characteristics, like universal appeal and relatability, but a lot of it comes down to chance! Some companies spend mega money to try and create a viral video, while your next-door neighbour could simply post a picture of a dog doing something silly and suddenly they’re famous! Just take a look at some of the top viral videos of all time. Guess you won’t know if you’ve got it ‘til you’ve got it.
