Thing - 3D modelling

First thing I turn on every morning is no longer my coffee machine – it’s my 3D printer! Though work has been busy, my recent discovery of 3D printing has been keeping me motivated.

While I’m not currently producing anything nearly as exciting as movie props, prostheses, or space gear, I’ve been able to use my 3D modelling and printing skills to build a whole (miniature) world of my own! Given, it’s for Dungeons and Dragons, but it’s a cool thing nonetheless. I’m finding all this amazing stuff on thingiverse.com which, as a bonus, is all free!

Eventually I’d like to create something on a greater scale, that can make some aspect of work or life easier! This is truly a technology of the future – what I’d like to know is how this super cool technology is changing or impacting society. What is it doing? What potential does it hold? How long until we start building cyberpunk style body enhancements?
